Thalapathy 67: Non-Theatrical Rights of Thalapathy Vijay's Next Sold For A Record Price

Chennai, November 24 - Thalapathy Vijay's second collaboration with in-demand director Lokesh Kangaraj is the talk of the town despite the fact that it is not been officially announced yet. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, it is the hottest movie in Kollywood at present.
There is crazy anticipation among the fans for "Thalapathy 67", which is touted to be the biggest film from the Tamil film industry and such a huge craze for the movie is leading to big bucks for the makers even before starting the shoot. As per the latest confirmed reports, the non-theatrical rights of "T67" have already been sold at massive prices.
According to reports, Netflix has grabbed post-theatrical streaming rights of the movie in all languages while SunTV has acquired satellite rights in South Indian languages. Set Max has got its hands on the Hindi television rights to the movie and Sony Music will have the music rights. It is said that Netflix has paid a whopping 160 crores for streaming rights while Sun TV paid huge 80 crores. The overall non-theatrical rights are said to be over 250 crores.
The above numbers are staggering and unheard which shows the star power of Thalapathy Vijay and also the stamina of his combination with director Lokesh who is currently the most popular filmmaker in Tamil cinema. Lokesh's last directorial "Vikram" was a massive blockbuster, grossing over 400 crores worldwide, so the expectation will be double from his next.
"Thalapathy 67" will be a part of director Lokesh's cinematic universe, which also includes "Kaithi" and "Vikram". The upcoming movie, which is expected to start filming early next year, will be made on a huge budget and will feature actors from across industries. As per reports, Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran will also feature in the movie.
