Tamil Film 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' Beats 'RRR' And 'Vikram' To Be The Best-Rated Indian Movie on Letterboxd

Chennai, July 3 - We are halfway through the year 2022 and these six months have been amazing for the world of cinema. There have been many films that found global appreciation, both critically and commercially. Talking about Indian films, SS Rajamouli's "RRR" has been a standout film so far.
The period action drama film is probably the most talked-about Indian movie among international audiences. "RRR" has been compared to the best of Marvel movies for its high cinematic value. However, despite becoming a box office monster and being critically hailed, "RRR", is not the best-rated Indian movie on the online social networking service Letterboxd.
Letterboxd has released the list of top 25 best-rated films worldwide on its platform and it revealed "RRR" as the second best-rated Indian title of 2022 so far. Tamil movie "Kadaisi Vivasayi" is the highest-rated Indian film on Letterboxd. Directed by M. Manikandan, "Kadaisi Vivasayi" is about Maayandi, the only farmer in a village that has abandoned farming, who is charged with a petty case that leads to his imprisonment. It also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu.
"Kadaisi Vivasayi" is also the second best-rated film worldwide on the Letterboxd, behind only "Everything Everywhere All at Once", which is also the highest-grossing film for A24 studio at the worldwide box office with $91 million. The movie is about an aging Chinese immigrant who is swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save what's important to her by connecting with the lives she could have led in other universes.
"RRR" is the sixth best-rated film worldwide on the platform, behind Tom Cruise's "Top Gun Maverick" but ahead of Warner Bros. "The Batman". The latest Indian box office sensation, Kamal Haasan-fronted "Vikram" (11) is also among the top 25 best-rated films worldwide on Letterboxd.
Letterboxd rankings include films that have been released in any country, with at least a limited theatrical, streaming, or video-on-demand run.
