Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's NGO ViswaSanthi Foundation has donated 1000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and N95 masks to the Hon. Mayor of Pune Murlidhar Mohol for the safety of the healthcare workers fighting against the coronavirus pandemic.
The trust had also donated 1000 PPE kits and over 2000 N95 makes to the healthcare workers in Tamilnadu and N95 masks to the police officials who are at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19.
On May 12, the superstar had shared the news via Twitter in which he said, "Continuing with third lap of initiatives against #COVID19, @ViswaSanthiFndn handed over 1000 PPE kits & N95 masks to Hon. mayor of Pune, Sri. @mohol_murlidhar. The kits will be put to use in Pune Municipal Corporation’s door-to-door COVID 19 screening in 130 slum colonies in Pune".
Viswa Santhi Foundation is a non-profitable foundation that has been named after the father and mother of its founder, Mohanlal. The organization was started in 2015 and has been helping people in many ways.
Earlier, the foundation had launched the Amrita-ViswaSanthi Health Care Project in 2019 in association with Amrita Hospital, Kochi. Through this project, the foundation has been bearing all the expenses of the heart surgeries of children under the age of 18 years belonging to socio-economically backward sections.
Apart from Mohanlal's NGO, he himself had donated ₹ 50 lakh to Kerala Chief Minister's Relief Fund to fight against COVID-19.
