Chennai, July 1 - Legendary Kamal Haasan's
Vikram has entered the Rs. 400 crores club at the worldwide box office, first for him and 2nd ever Tamil movie to do so. The movie has grossed approx. 401 crores worldwide in 4 weeks.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Vikram" is the 21st Indian and 7th non-Bollywood film to reach the coveted box office milestone. It has outperformed all other movies in Tamil Nadu and become the highest-grossing movie ever in the state with 171.15 crores gross over 4 weeks.
"Vikram" has truly been an all-time blockbuster. It is by far the most profitable Tamil movie ever, which has not only given huge returns to the Tamil Nadu distributors but also to the other states' stack holders of the film. In Kerala, the action thriller is the highest-grossing Tamil movie while the Hindi version also proved to be a profitable venture with approx. 12 crores gross collection.
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, "Vikram" has grossed approx. 278 crores at the domestic box office while overseas, it has minted Rs 123 crores gross in 4 weeks. It is one of the biggest Tamil overseas grossers. The lifetime run is expected to finish under 410 crores, which could make it the 20th biggest Indian movie.

The film serves as the second installment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The plot continues from Kaithi (2019) and follows a black-ops squad led by Amar tracking down masked vigilantes, while he learns of a drug syndicate group called Vetti Vagaiyara, led by Sandhanam, who wants the missing drugs to be delivered to his cold-blooded boss Rolex.
It stars Kamal Haasan in the title role alongside Fahadh Faasil, and Vijay Sethupathi in the prominent roles while Suriya has played a cameo as Rolex.
