Chennai, June 19 - The Tamil film industry had been delivering blockbuster after blockbuster but none of them could cross the box office collection of SS Rajamouli's historical blockbuster "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" in Tamil Nadu state.

The Kollywood film industry, led by some of the biggest Indian superstars, needed a special feature film to dethrone "Baahubali 2" to regain its lost glory. And finally, the record of Prabhas-fronted movie has been broken by legendary Kamal Haasan's "Vikram" after 5 years.



The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed action thriller film emerged as the Industry Hit in Tamil Nadu and also become the only Tamil movie to reach the 150 crores gross mark in the state. The bonafide record-breaking success of "Vikram" came at a time when no one was expecting it to reach even close to Baahubali 2's record, but the results are there for everyone to see.
