Dhanush To Star In Selvaraghavan's Magnum Opus Aayirathil Oruvan 2

In what could be one of the biggest news of the year going forward, Tamil superstar, Dhanush who is riding high with a series of films, has signed one more movie and this time it is the sequel of the magnum opus Aayirathil Oruvan that will be directed by his brother, Selvaraghavan who also helmed the original movie.

Even though an action-adventurous film, Aayirathil Oruvan 2 has been announced at the beginning of 2021, the movie will take more than three years to arrive in cinemas as it is slated for 2024 release.



Selvaraghavan took to Twitter and shared the first look of AO2. He wrote, "To my loving souls who have heard and waited until this. Here is in front of you @dhanushkraja".

Quoting Selvaraghavan's tweet, Dhanush wrote, "A magnum opus !! The pre-production alone will take us a year. But a dream film from the master @selvaraghavan! The wait will be long. But we will give our best to make it all worth it. AO2 ..The Prince returns in 2024".

Talking about the original Aayirathil Oruvan, it starred Karthi, Andrea Jeremiah, and Reemma Sen in the lead with Parthiepan playing a pivotal role. The story of the film revolves around three characters, who embark on an adventure to search for a missing archaeologist. It is inspired loosely by the historical decline of the Tamil Chola dynasty and the rise of the Tamil Pandya dynasty.
