Box Office: Sivakrathikeyan's 'Don' Scores A Blockbuster First Week Worldwide

Chennai, May 20 - Tamil star Sivakarathikeyan's "Don" has hit the ball out of the part in the first week. Directed by debutante Cibi Chakaravarthi, "Don" has proved the ever-growing fan following of Sivakarthikeyan, who has become a new sensation in the Tamil cinema.
Produced by Lyca Productions, and Sivakarthikeyan Productions, "Don" scored Rs. 65.55 crores worldwide in the first week, which is the highest ever for Siva's movie. Domestically, the coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama film has grossed Rs. 52.55 crores, including Rs. 4.41 crores in Chennai city alone.
"Don" took the opening of Rs. 9.30 crores net, biggest for Siva. It was connected well with the audience as they gave excellent reviews which transformed into a blockbuster opening weekend with Rs 31.3 crores net. It held super strong over the weekdays and earned Rs. 13.83 crores, pushing the total net collection to 45.13 crores, including Rs. 1.47 crores in Telugu. At the overseas box office, the movie had minted approx. 13 crores.
The movie will look to cross the lifetime worldwide collection of "Doctor", which is Sivakarthikeyan's biggest grosser yet. Released in October 2021, "Doctor" had grossed a little over 100 crores worldwide, and the way "Don" is going about its business, it should top 100 crores by the end of its box office run.
Priyanka Arul Mohan is playing the female lead and this is her second film with Siva, after "Doctor". Apart from the lead pair, the movie also stars S. J. Suryah, Samuthirakani, and Soori in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music, with cinematography and editing done by K. M. Bhaskaran and Nagooran respectively.
