All the police involved in Jayaraj and Bennix custodial deaths should be punished: Rajinikanth

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on Wednesday took to social media and posted a furious note seeking justice for the custodial deaths of a father-son duo Jayaraj and Bennix. The superstar is also furious at the police for their behavior in front of the magistrate investigating the case.
He posted a photo of him looking upset and a note which is written in Tamil translated to, "I am shocked to know the behavior of few police officials in front of the magistrate investigating the case inspite of being aware of the protests of citizens against the brutal act of the police. All the police involved in the case should be punished and not be spared. They shouldn’t be spared at any cost".
Jayaraj (58) and his son Bennix (38) - running a mobile shop in Sathankulam town in Tuticorin district in Tamil Nadu were arrested some policemen allegedly for keeping the shop open past permitted hours and were taken to the jail where they were tortured, as has been alleged by the family.
The medical report suggested that the duo had severe injuries in the gluteal region. While Bennix died at the Kovilpatti General Hospital on June 22, his father Jeyaraj breathed his last on June 23.
After looking at the protests and anger shown by the public and celebrities on social media, The Tamil Nadu government has decided to transfer the probe of the Tuticorin custodial death case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
