Warner Bros. Sets New Release Dates of The Sequels To 'Dune' And 'Godzilla vs. Kong'

Los Angeles, July 1 - Warner Bros. is shifting the release dates of two of its most-awaited high-profile films, sequels to "Dune" and "Godzilla vs. Kong".
Director Denis Villeneuve's "Dune 2", which was originally announced for October 20, 2023, release, will now be hitting theaters on November 17, 2023. That means the sequel will have the advantage of playing over the Thanksgiving holiday.
The first part of this sci-fi epic, the adaptation of the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert, was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max in the USA on October 22, 2021. It grossed $108.3 million in North America while worldwide, it scored $401 million and also won 6 Oscars.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros./Legendary has set the release date of Adam Wingard's next installment in the Godzilla Vs. Kong franchise. The sequel of 2021's film will be debuted in theaters on March 15, 2024. Just like "Dune", Wingard's "Godzilla vs. Kong" also has had a day-and-date release on HBO Max and in theaters on March 31, 2021.
"Godzilla vs. Kong" had grossed $468 million globally, including $100.9 million at the North American box office. It was the first non-Chinese movie during the covid-19 pandemic to score $100 million in North America.
