Marvel's 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania': First Reactions From World Premiere Out Online
Los Angeles, February 7 - Phase 5 of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is about to kick off with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" which is slated for February 17 release. Ahead of that, the movie had its world premiere on February 6 at the Regency Westwood Theatre, in Los Angeles.
While the official review embargo for "Ant-Man 3" breaks on Tuesday, February 14, the early reactions for the world premiere have already started coming on social media. The initial reactions to a Marvel movie have always been mostly positive and things aren't different this time as well, though it suggests there is a different kind of wildness to look out for in the movie.
Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, "Ant-Man 3" is the 31st film in the MCU. It sees the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/Wasp, with Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer reprising their roles as Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Scott's now-grown-up daughter, Cassie.
Jonathan Majors plays Kang, the next chief villain of Marvel's Phase Five. The early reactions suggest Kang is the center attraction in "Ant-Man 3" and he has outshined others. Some have called it the best of the "Ant-Man" trilogy. Have a look at some of the reactions.
#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is the best of the trilogy. Higher stakes, dangers & repercussions. Its also got one the best MCU villains in #Kang. As soon as #JonathanMayors comes in, its his show. Kang is a scary lean-mean multiverse big baddie. Also, 2 cool post credits scenes. pic.twitter.com/t1V8HP2dsO

I will say though, there is ONE cutaway shot in #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania that spoke DIRECTLY to ME and probably ME alone. (This is a real, if you know me, you’ll know when you see this movie).

#Quantumania REVIEW: SCARY & SHOCKING GAMECHANGER! Marvel is back with a fun, WILD adventure. This isn’t just another superhero movie, it’s one of the BEST sci-fi films ever! WOW… A fitting end to her journey, while also setting up what’s next #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania pic.twitter.com/iTC9KkuehU

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is the most mature installment of the franchise. Driven by emotion, it opens Phase 5 with exciting new action set pieces and sets the stage for the rest of the Multiverse Saga. Equal balance heart, humor, and excitement! Majors is a standout as Kang! pic.twitter.com/cmNZo5u9Wq

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA is a blast, and finally answers some of the "where is the MCU going?" questions. Takes a minute to pick up, but has some great action scenes, creative visuals and a terrific villain in Kang. A solid start to Phase 5. #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania pic.twitter.com/SaAwnZwOre

Had a blast with #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania Paul Rudd has never been better & Jonathan Majors effortlessly conquers every second of screen-time he gets, BUT the real star of the film is Jeff Loveness’ script: a reminder of how beautifully strange & mysterious the MCU still is. pic.twitter.com/MYoL6WPlmU

Jonathan Majors is a force in #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania. He’s compelling, chilling, and already giving a top notch performance. I love the complexity he brings to Kang with literally a single look. MCU really won with this casting pic.twitter.com/4W8VCLGFBv

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is a light & psychedelic space opera à la Marvel that starts Phase 5 on a mostly good note while keeping the spirit of the previous Ant-Man films. The introduction of Kang shifts the movie in full gear and doesn't disappoint thanks to Jonathan Majors. pic.twitter.com/puvp0cyZdC

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania kicks off Marvel’s Phase Five with a vivid but messy spectacle. It never quite finds its footing and relies on style over substance, the quality never matching the confidence. Jonathan Majors’ Kang is solid but the overall film is sadly just… okay. pic.twitter.com/LzKXgCER7v

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania was well balanced and fast paced. I loved the father/daughter moments in the movie. Jonathan Majors is a beast as Kang. With Black Panther and now #AntManAndTheWasp it feels like @MarvelStudios is back on track. Excited to see it again! pic.twitter.com/p5J0Fm7xF1
