Box Office: 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Film For Sony Pictures Worldwide

Mumbai, December 30 - "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is setting new benchmarks at the domestic as well as overseas box office, that too during the covid-19 pandemic era. On Tuesday, "No Way Home" officially became the highest-grossing film for Sony Pictures ever with $1.16 billion globally.

Already the number 1 movie globally in 2021, "No Way Home" surpassed the global total of its predecessor, "Spider-Man: Far From Home" (2019), which grossed $1.13B over its entire box office run. The Tom Holland-fronted superhero film has so far grossed $516.4 million domestically (North America), and $644.9M at the overseas box office.



Internationally, the Marvel/Sony film becomes the biggest Hollywood title in 2021, overtaking James Bond "No Time To Die" ($613.2M). The one thing, which is standing tall and positively with "No Way Home" is that it is breaking these records without China, where the movie is yet to set a release date. China is the biggest movie market in the world, and it contributed $200 million to "Far From Home" in 2019.

The Top 10 international box office markets for "No Way Home" through Tuesday are the UK ($76.6M), Mexico ($57.9M), Korea ($43.2M), France ($42.1M), Australia ($35.9M), Brazil ($35.6M), India ($30.9M), Russia ($30.1M), Germany ($23.2M), and Italy ($21M), along with the next 5 are Spain ($18.5M), Hong Kong ($14.1M), Taiwan ($13.2M), Argentina ($12M), and Malaysia ($10.8M).

Directed by Jon Watts, "No Way Home" has also surpassed lifetime totals of "Captain America: Civil War" ($1.15B), "Aquaman" ($1.14B), and "Captain Marvel" ($1.12B). The finale of the Home Coming trilogy is likely to surpass "Black Panther" lifetime global total of $1.34B to become the highest-grossing solo superhero movie of all time.
