Los Angeles, January 27 - James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" climbs one more step to become 5th biggest film ever worldwide.
The sci-fi epic sequel continues to make money at the box office and becomes the fifth biggest-grossing film ever, beating "Avengers: Infinity War" ($2.052 billion). "Avatar 2" now grossed $2.06 billion globally through Wednesday to claim the 5th spot.
After becoming the highest-grossing film of the pandemic era, "Avatar 2" became only the 6th film ever to breach the $2 billion mark at the global box office. It has grossed $603 million at the domestic (North America) and $1.45 billion overseas box office.
"Avatar 2" will next beat "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ($2.07 billion) by Friday and will become the 4th biggest grosser. It is predicted to finish its run over $2.3 billion, which means it will be the third biggest movie, ahead of "Titanic" ($2.19 billion) globally.
