Hyderabad, September 22: Amid the speculations, Venkatesh Daggubati and Rana Daggubati have been confirmed to star in a web series. The real-life uncle and nephew, Venkatesh and Rana will be starring in a crime drama series "Rana Naidu", which is an official adaptation of the American crime drama Ray Donovan, for Netflix.
This is the first time when the two actors with massive fan followings will be sharing screen space. "Rana Naidu" story will follow the life of Rana Naidu, a professional fixer for Bollywood and Mumbai's elite. It will be produced by Sunder Aaron of Locomotive Global Media LLP and directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma.
"It is completely different from what both of us have done in our careers so far. I am extremely happy to work with a crew and a platform that knows this format the best. It will be new, challenging, and fun. We are looking forward to filming soon", Rana said in a statement.
Venkatesh added, "I cannot wait to work with Rana. I am sure we will have a blast on sets. I am a huge fan of Ray Donovan and the team is pulling out all the stops to ensure we do justice to it". The shooting of the web series will commence soon.
Venkatesh was last seen in the Telugu remake of Dhanush's "Asuran", "Narappa". He will next be seen in "Drushyam 2", which will release soon, and "F3". On the other hand, Rana Daggubati has "Virata Parvam" ready for release apart from "Bheemla Nayak", which is currently under production.
