Mumbai, September 25: Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has showered his utmost respect to the cops in his films and made cop universe a popular film franchise in India. The star filmmaker has already given Bollywood audience two of the most loved cops in "Singham" and "Simmba", and there is the third one Veer "Sooryavanshi", who is going to explode big screens soon.
While Akshay Kumar as "Sooryavanshi" is the latest addition to Shetty's cop world, he is certainly not the last in the list. According to reports, Rohit Shetty is all set to expand his cop universe. He is currently directing Ranveer Singh starrer "Cirkus", which is nearing its completion.
According to a mid-day report, Shetty will be backing an eight-episode cop drama series for Amazon Prime Video, which will reportedly be helmed by his assistant Sushwanth Prakash. Shetty will work as a creative producer and showrunner on the series. Meanwhile, Rohit is reportedly in talks with Sidharth Malhotra, Tiger Shroff, and Vicky Kaushal to play the leading role of a cop.
"They (Tiger, Sidharth, Vicky) are Rohit's top choices for the role as the material demands an actor who is adept at the action. If all goes well, the actioner will roll by December. Though it marks Rohit's foray into the OTT world, he is not in a rush to announce it and will probably do so only after the release date of Sooryavanshi is finalized", A source told the daily.
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is waiting for the release of "Sooryavanshi", which is ready to hit the big screens in March 2020. Headed by Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif with cameos of Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, Sooryavanshi was delayed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic.
