Alia Bhatt's Dark Comedy 'Darlings' Most-Watched Indian Original Film On Netflix

Mumbai, August 29 - Alia Bhatt-fronted dark comedy Darlings continues to score big on Netflix and now, it has become the most-watched Indian original Netflix film of all time, according to the streamer.

Directed by Jasmeet K. Reen in her debut, "Darlings" was released on August 5 and since then it has been trending in the top 10. According to Netflix, the movie has been watched for 30 million hours, which is a record for an Indian original Netflix film.



Netflix also revealed that "Darlings" trended in the top 10 in 28 countries in the first three weeks. Alia Bhatt produced the film under the banner Eternal Sunshine Productions in association with Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. It is Alia's debut as a producer.

"Darlings" stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role along with Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew. The movie is the story of a young Muslim couple in love - and violence and revenge. Badru (Alia) hopes her volatile husband, Hamza (Vijay) will reform if he stops drinking. However, when his rage goes too far, she and her mum (Shefali) boldly, albeit clumsily, seek revenge.
