Yash Raj Films Inks 4 Films Deal With Amazon Prime Video For Post Theatrical Streaming

Mumbai, October 28 - The leading Hindi film production studio, Yash Raj Films has locked the streaming partner for its 4 upcoming films. The studio, which will release Bunty Aur Babli 2 (Nov. 19), Prithviraj (Jan. 21, 2022), Jayeshbhai Jordaar (Feb. 25, 2022), and Shamshera (Mar. 18, 2022) in the next five months, has inked a deal with Amazon Prime Video for the post-theatrical premiere.
According to the deal, Amazon Prime Video will have the rights to stream the aforementioned films on its platform 4 weeks after their theatrical release. Amazon has been the first choice destination for Indian films in the last one and a half years. Prime Video's new deal with YRF is for exclusive global streaming rights for the four most anticipated films.
"At Prime Video, we are intently focused on bringing the biggest and the best entertainment to our customers and this partnership with Yash Raj Films is the perfect demonstration of that commitment", said Gaurav Gandhi, country head, Prime Video India.
"Over the last four years, we have been consistently bringing blockbuster movies to entertain audiences from the comfort of their homes and on a screen of their choice. The global digital premieres, four weeks after theatrical release, will not only delight our Prime members but will also help significantly increase the reach and viewing base for these highly anticipated films – in India and around the world", he added.
Amazon is already home to several Yash Raj Films including "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Silsila", "Chandni" and "Dil To Pagal Hai" and more recent titles "Thugs of Hindostan", "War" and "Mardaani".
