Vidya Balan Spill The Beans On The Development Of Kahaani 3

Mumbai, June 15, 2021: Vidya Balan headed, 2012 thriller film, Kahaani was a box office super hit film. The movie won the actress her 5th of 6 Filmfare Awards among the other accolades. It was one of the first successful female-oriented films in Bollywood, which gave a boost to female-fronted movies in the industry.

A sequel to Kahaani - Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh was released in 2016. The movie received mixed reviews from the critics and audience but is mainly disappointed, even though Vidya Balan's performance was applauded worthy as always. Meanwhile, there are rumours that the threequel of Kahaani is in the works with the director Sujoy Ghosh and Vidya Balan.



Vidya Balan was asked if there is any kind of development on the third installment of Kahaani. Indicating that there is nothing going on for Kahaani 3 as of now, the actress said in an interview, "Please ask director Sujoy Ghosh. He is the only one with the answer. If he is not accessible to you. I will ask him and tell you".

As of now, things are not looking in favor of Kahaani 3, but the producers of the film had previously confirmed that they have definitely a plan to bring the second sequel of this successful thriller franchise.

Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is currently gearing up for the premiere of her next direct-to-digital release, Sherni. After Shakuntala Devi last year, Sherni will be Vidya's second back-to-back direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video on June 18. She plays the role of an upright Forest Officer who strives for balance in a world of man-animal conflict while she also seeks her true calling in a hostile environment.

Directed by Amit V. Masurkar and produced by T-Series in association with Abundantia Entertainment, Sherni also stars Sharat Saxena, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, Neeraj Kabi, and Mukul Chaddha in supporting roles.
