Spin-off Of Shah Rukh Khan's Character In Brahmastra Is On The Cards, Confirms Ayan Mukerji

Mumbai, September 14 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's cameo appearance in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva left the fans wanting more of his character. The fans have been trending on social media and running campaigns for the spin-off of SRK's character as Mohan Bharghav, a scientist who wielded Vanar Astra.

Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in the film has the potential to be made into a full-fledged spin-off film or series and now, director Ayan Mukerji has an exciting piece of news regarding the same. During a recent interview with Indian Express, Ayan shared that they were already exploring the ideas to spin off SRK's character to tell the origin story of the scientist.



Asked about fans' demands for a spin-off, which includes an online petition, Ayan said, "Before the fans were saying it, we were also saying that ourselves. When we were shooting the sequence in 2019, we were also saying on sets. As we discovered the personality of the scientist, we said, 'Yaar, we have to do stuff. We have to do the origins story of the scientist!'"

The director further said that his team also agreed to his idea of doing the spin-off of the character. "We are already thinking about it. We are hearing everything and are planning our next moves", he added.

The solo "Brahmastra" film on Shah Rukh Khan's character might not happen anytime soon as the makers have the second and third part of the planned trilogy to make. "Brahmastra Part Two: Dev" is expected to begin later this year. Meanwhile, the fans of SRK are on a treat as the superstar is bracing for his first full-fledged role in more than 4 years in the upcoming Yash Raj Films' Pathaan, which is scheduled to release on January 25, 2023. He also has "Jawaan" and "Dunki" lined up for the release next year.
