Sooraj R Barjatya's Star-Studded Friendship Saga 'Uunchai' Release Date Announced

Mumbai, July 25 - Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has confirmed the release date of his 7th directorial film "Uunchai".

The beautiful slice-of-life tale of four friends, who are aged 60 plus, will be hitting worldwide theaters on November 11, 2022, and will be clashing with Marvel biggie "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".



"Uunchai" stars an ensemble cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Dengzonpa, Parineeti Chopra, Nasifa Ali, and Sarika Thakur.

The premise of the film has the right blend of feel-good elements with strong rooted emotions. The movie is produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Boundless Media.

Starring the diamonds of Indian Cinema, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, Sarika with Parineeti Chopra, Nafisa Ali Sodhi and Danny Denzongpa, Uunchai is produced by Rajshri Productions in association Mahaveer Jain Films and Boundless Media.

Uunchai finished its principal shooting earlier this year. The film was extensively shot in Nepal, Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, Lucknow, and Kanpur. It marks director Sooraj R. Barjatya's return to the big screen after 7 years.

Sooraj Barjatya has been the mind behind some of the classic Bollywood blockbusters, including Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and Vivah, among others, which hold a special mention in Indian cinema. "Uunchai" is promising to be another memorable film in Barjatya's respected career.
