Mumbai, February 2 - Actors Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna-fronted spy thriller "Mission Majnu" is proving to be a successful venture for Netflix which acquired the digital-to-streaming rights of it.
Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, "Mission Majnu" was released on January 20 and debuted at number 2 on Netflix with 8.94 million viewing hours in the first three days. The movie remained in the top 5 for the second consecutive week with 10.34 million streaming hours (Jan. 23 - Jan. 29).
"Mission Majnu", produced by RSVP Movies and Guilty By Association Media LLP, has so far garnered 19.28 million viewing hours in the first 10 days, which is a good number for the direct-OTT release film.
Starring Sidharth Malhotra as Amandeep Ajitpal Singh IPS (Aman)/Tariq Hussain, a RAW agent, the film takes place before and during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The movie got good reviews from critics and OTT audiences.
