Scholarship Named After Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan Returns At La Trobe University

Melbourne, August 30 - The La Trobe University Ph.D. Scholarship, named after Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 2019, makes its return. According to India TV, the registration for the scholarship started recently on August 18 and will go all the way till September 23.
The first-ever La Trobe scholarship was announced at the 2019 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne where SRK was the chief guest and visited the university to launch this program. Gopika Kottantharayil Bhasi from Thrissur in Kerala was awarded the maiden scholarship.
The university expressed that this was their most applied scholarship with over 800 applicants and this is the reason that it has been re-introduced after getting paused for two years to the covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions.
The La Trobe University Ph.D. scholarship, in partnership with the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and La Trobe University, aims to provide a life-changing opportunity for an aspiring Indian female researcher to make a meaningful impact in the world.
The top criteria for the selection for the scholarship are that the candidate has to be a female Indian national who should be residing in India and have completed a Masters of Research degree within the past 10 years. The selected student will be receiving a four-year La Trobe University Full-Fee Research Scholarship.
