Mumbai, November 27 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty made his directorial debut with Ajay Devgn-fronted "Zameen" (2003), however, it was the first instalment of the Golmaal series in 2006 that gave him a respected name in the Bollywood film industry. Since "Golmaal: Fun Unlimited" was the first of the four films in the Golmaal franchise, the last coming in 2017 is "Golmaal Again".
Golmaal has been a standout franchise in Bollywood in terms of box office and in the comic genre. Every film in the franchise has taken it a notch higher. In 2018, director Rohit Shetty had announced Golmaal 5 with the primary cast. However, the covid-19 pandemic and the delayed release of "Sooryavshi", left the 5th instalment in limbo.
With things are looking a lot brighter than the year or two, the talks of Golmaal 5 have started making noise again. Keeping talks to rest, the filmmaker has himself confirmed that the fifth installment of the massively successful Golmaal series is on. "It'll happen. As I've been saying, two years went over this (lockdowns and Sooryavanshi's release). Golmaal is something that can never end", Shetty told Bollywood life.
Meanwhile, Shetty refuted the speculations around the rumoured plot of "Singham 3". It was recently reported that Ajay Devgn-fronted third Singham film will be based on Article 370. Speaking about the same, Shetty said, "Even I've heard that the story is out, even though I myself don't know what the story is – that Singham 3 is being made on Article 370, which even I don't know".
The filmmaker further said that he has a basic idea about the story, but it's too early to talk about it as, according to him, the movie won't begin until the end of next year. So there is still a lot of time left for Singham 3 to get on the floor. Meanwhile, some reports have claimed that Shetty and Singham team have already locked Independence Day 2023 release date for the film.
