Mumbai, December 1 - The trailer of cricket biopic "83", starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, received a blockbuster response from the viewers. Released on November 30, the Hindi trailer of the film gained over 43 million views in the first 24-hours, which is a record in Bollywood. Currently, at the writing of this article, "83" has 46.5 million views on YouTube.
"83" is based on India's maiden cricket world cup triumph in 1983 and revolves around how the Kapil Dev-led Team India pulled off the unthinkable on the iconic Lord's cricket ground. The movie, directed by Kabir Khan, is seen as the potential Bollywood blockbuster of the year.
The movie is undoubtedly the finest cricket biopic is ever made in Indian cinema. The trailer becoming the most-watched in the first 24-hours is a clear indication of its anticipation among the fans. Earlier, the trailer Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" was the most-watched Hindi trailer with 42.7 million in 24-hours (107.07M currently). "Sooryavashi" is Bollywood's first superhit film of the covid-19 pandemic era.

Kamal Haasan and Akkineni Nagarjuna will present the film in Tamil, and Telugu respectively while Prithviraj and Kichcha Sudeepa take responsibility to release the Malayalam and Kannada versions.
