Rani Mukerji To Star In A Drama Thriller, Titled Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway

Actress Rani Mukerji, who will soon be seen in the sequel of Bunty Aur Babli, has signed a drama thriller movie, titled "Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway", to be directed by written and directed by Mere Dad Ki Maruti-fame Ashima Chibber who has also written the script of the new film.

Nikkhil Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Monisha Advani of Emmay Entertainment will produce the movie in association with Zee Studios. The film is expected to go on the floors soon. The movie announcement was made on Rani Mukerji. The story of the movie, inspired by true events, revolves around a mother's battle against an entire country.



"There could have been no better way to celebrate my birthday today than announce this really important film. In my 25th year in cinema, I have possibly signed one of the most special and significant films of my career. I started my career with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, which was a woman-centric film, and coincidentally in my 25th year, I'm announcing a film that is also centered around a woman's resolve to fight against all odds and take on a country", Mukerji said in a statement.

"Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway is a story of true human resilience and it is a film that is dedicated to all the mothers out there. It is truly one of the most amazing scripts that I have read in a long, long time and I immediately decided to do this special film. To partner with Ashima Chibber, my director is something I am looking forward to, whose vision for the film and intent with this project has truly bowled me over. This is a powerful story of a woman that needs to be told", she added.

Apart from Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway, and Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Rani Mukerji has also starred in movies like Mardaani (both parts), and Hichki, which made a lasting impact on the audiences with powerful stories strongly presented by Rani through her acting.

Mukerji's other project includes Bunty Aur Babli 2 with Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and debutant Sharvari Wagh. The crime-comedy backed by Yash Raj Films is set to release on 23 April this year in theaters.
