Mumbai, April 1 - Director Ayan Mukerji's ambitious project Brahmastra had its theatrical debut last year with the first part
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt among others in the key roles.
After the successful outing of the first of the Brahmastra trilogy, the filmmaker is now working on the next two chapters in the fantasy adventure franchise. During a recent interview with News18, Ayan Mukerji revealed that Brahmastra 2 & 3 would be shot simultaneously for which the writing is underway.
The first Brahmastra movie, although it received praise for visuals and VFX, did receive a little criticism for poor dialogue writing. Mukerji said that he will write the scripts of the next two films without compromising and this will take some time.
"We will make Brahmastra 2 and 3 together. The truth is we are going to take a little bit of time to write it. I know there's a lot of anticipation. People want the (second part) film to come out. But first, we will write it properly without compromising it. I think it will be about three years from now before we see Brahmastra 2 on the big screen", said Ayan.
Talking about Brahmastra's dialogues, Ayan said, "We did get some mixed reactions. We still did really good numbers. A lot of people accepted our film. It also did well when it came out on a streaming (platform). It's probably the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022. But I still hear that criticism very clearly".
Produced by Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in association with Star Studios, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva also stars Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy. Nagarjuna and Shah Rukh Khan have extended cameos in the film. The movie grossed over 430 crores worldwide and was the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2022.
