Ace director Puri Jagannadh and producer Karan Johar have collaborated for their first pan India film starring Telugu sensation Vijay Deverakonda and Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey. The sports actioner has been titled 'Liger' and the makers have also unveiled the first look featuring Deverakonda in which he is looking deadly while donning a look of a boxer.
The multilingual film is produced by Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, and Hiroo Yash Johar and will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Sharing the first look of Vijay Deverakonda, Karan Johar took to Twitter and announced the title.
"Presenting LIGER, starring the ruler of big screens & hearts - Vijay Deverakonda & the fiery Ananya Panday. Directed by the exceptionally skilled Puri Jagannadh, we can't wait to let the world witness this story in 5 languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam. #Liger", the filmmaker wrote.
Vijay reportedly plays a kickboxer with a stutter in Liger. He underwent a dramatic physical transformation for the film and even went to Thailand to train in martial arts.
Apart from Liger, Vijay has a film with Sukumar in his kitty. Last year, announcing the film, he wrote on Twitter, "The actor in me is super excited. The audience in me is celebrating! We guarantee you a memorable Cinema... I can't wait to be on set with Sukku sirrr".
Meanwhile, Ananya also has Shakun Batra's next in her kitty, alongside Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
