"Over the years, I have been playing different roles for my three-minute music videos, and now, I am ready for my Bollywood debut", he added saying that he has signed the film a month ago and it will go on floors this year. Further details about the project will be revealed soon.
Guru hails from Punjab and he is well connected with Punjabi music and his song of 2017, "High Rated Gabru" has over 1 billion views on Youtube. Guru said to the portal that since he is well-rotted to the Punjabi industry, he has been offered Punjabi movies before, but he wasn't ready to face the camera back then. Now that he is comfortable acting, he feels this is the right time to work in Punjabi and Hindi films.
When asked about what made him work in Bollywood, he said that "the canvas that the Hindi film industry works on is huge — right from the screenplay, to choreography, casting, and writing. I’ve always looked up to actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Irrfan, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In fact, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a few of them when I composed and sang for their films. They inspire me", he added.
