Filmmaker Hansal Mehta doesn't believe in the comparison between the Hindi movie, "The Big Bull" and his directorial web series "Scam 1992". "Scam 1992" received rave reviews for the direction of Mehta along with Pratik Gandhi acting. The series is based on the biggest Indian stock market scam in 1992 which was done by Harshad Mehta who was the mastermind behind the disruption to the stock market of India, with over one billion USD defrauded.
"The Big Bull", directed by Kookie Gulati and stars Abhishek Bachchan in a character based on Harshad Mehta, also based on the same storyline as Scam 1992 but with different twists and turns. The trailer was dropped on Friday (March 19), and people started making compression between the two with some calling "The Big Bull" not up to the standard of Hansal Mehta's directorial show.
"Please don't make unfair comparisons. There can be multiple tales on the same story. Every story-teller will have his own way and should be seen independent of the other. This film has so many talents involved just like my show. They’ve done their best and they deserve your love", Mehta tweeted in response to a user.
"And very intriguing trailer with such phenomenal actors. You are in great form @juniorbachchan. More power to the entire team of #TheBigBull on @DisneyPlusHS", he added.
"The Big Bull" which also stars Ileana D'Cruz, Sohum Shah, Nikita Dutta, Varun Sharma, Chunky Pandey, and Kumud Mishra in key roles, will directly release on Disney+Hotstar on April 8, skipping theatrical release.
The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, Anand Pandit, Vikrant Sharma, and Kumar Mangat Pathak under the banners of Ajay Devgn FFilms, and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures.
