Mumbai, January 26 - Yash Raj Films, the biggest Bollywood production house and one of the biggest in India, has hit the ball out of the park with its latest blockbuster
Pathaan, starring one of the biggest movie stars in the world Shah Rukh Khan along with John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.
The spy action thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, has had a historic opening day at the box office not just domestically but worldwide as well. The movie grossed approx. 68 crores opening day in India for all languages, becoming the
biggest-ever opener for a Bollywood/Hindi film.
"Pathaan" scored an equally strong opening day overseas with approx. collection of 37 crores ($4.5 million). The final opening day overseas collection could come higher with many markets remaining to report collection. Irrespective of that, "Pathaan" has scored 100+ crores on opening day worldwide, which is the first ever instance for a Bollywood film.
The Bollywood biggie has joined the South Indian blockbuster to score 100+ crores on opening day worldwide. It has become only the 6th Indian film ever and the first of 2023 to do so. As per the reported overseas numbers, "Pathaan" grossed approx. 105 crores worldwide on the first day, despite being a proper working day.
