Mumbai, May 4, 2021: Mohanlal starrer Malayalam movie, Drishyam 2 which recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video became a digital blockbuster after getting rave reviews. And now, the movie is set for its Hindi remake as Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios International has acquired the Hindi remake rights of this suspense thriller.
Panorama Studios had also produced the Hindi remake of Drishyam with Ajay Devgn reprising the role of Mohanlal along with Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta in key roles. While Drishyam was directed by Nishikant Kamat, the details of who will helm Drishyam 2 and the cast will soon be announced.
Director of the original film Jeethu Joseph said in a statement, "The story of Drishyam 2 resonated with people and I am so glad that Panorama Studios will make it reach to a wider audience with the Hindi remake. I am looking forward to it".
Kumar Mangat Pathak said, "With the huge success of Drishyam 2, the story needs to be told with passion and commitment, and we as producers are committed to that".
Apart from the Hindi remake of Drishyam 2, the Telugu remake of the film starring Venkatesh Daggubati and directed by Jeethu Joseph himself, has already completed the shoot and the post-production is currently on. The movie is also being remade in Kannada as Drishya 2.
