Mumbai, August 3, 2021: The Multiplex Association Of India has expressed concern and disappointment over the government of Maharashtra's decision to keep theaters closed despite the other states have allowed the cinemas to operate.
The decision of keeping the cinemas closed in Maharasthra came a few hours after the makers of Akshay Kumar's starrer "Bell Bottom" announced the launch of the trailer. Earlier, the government had reportadly allowed cinemas to reopen in 25 districts of the state, which led "Bell Bottom" makers to finalized the release date of the film on August 19.
"Government of Maharashtra's decision to keep Cinemas closed is hugely disappointing news for the entire Film Industry. This comes at a crucial time when the Industry has received permission to reopen from all major States, and is trying to recover from the devastating pandemic. Urging @OfficeofUT to reconsider and allow Cinemas to reopen @AUThackeray #Unlockcinemas #savejobs", the association said in a tweet.
