Laxmmi Bomb and Bhuj: The Pride Of India sold for a whopping price to Disney+Hotstar

As the coronavirus pandemic still not looking to slow down, it has put a long pause in the entertainment industry. There is still uncertainty over the release of the films in theaters as it remained shut since before the nationwide lockdown was imposed on March 25.
While the theaters are waiting for the re-opening, some of the filmmakers are approaching to release their movies directly on the digital platform. In this process, on 29 June, one of the leading streaming platforms, Disney Plus Hotstar made a huge announcement and revealed 7 big movies to release on Disney+Hotstar between July and October.

The seven movies that were announced by the streaming giant are Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, The Big Bull, Dil Bechara, Sadak 2, Khuda Hafiz, and Lootcase.
According to reports, out of the 7 movies, Akshay Kumar's Laxmi Bomb and Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj: The Pride Of India sold for a whopping price. A source close to the development reveals that "Laxmmi Bomb was sold for a huge amount of Rs 125 crores. Ajay Devgn along with producers Bhushan Kumar, Vajir Singh, and others also have cracked a solid deal with Hotstar for Bhuj. The film has been sold for a whopping price of Rs 112 crores. That also makes Bhuj the second highest-earning film to release on OTT platforms this year after Laxmmi Bomb so far".
It is important to highlight that because of the stardom of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, both the movies could have earned more had it released in the theaters first. However, it is also important to look at the current situation which is not going to allow the movies to have a theatrical release anytime soon.
