Mumbai, June 9, 2021: Sushant Singh Rajput was one of the most promising stars and had proved his worth in films like Sonchiriya, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Kai Po Che!, M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story, among others. His sudden demise had not only left the nation in shock but also given the fresh air to nepotism and drug culture in the Bollywood film industry.
Sushant Singh Rajput starred in 11 films and one of them is Raabta, which released on June 9, 2017. Ahead of Sushant's first death anniversary (June 14), actress Kriti Sanon who played the female lead in the film remembered Sushant and shared a heartwarming BTS video from their film. The video features all the goofy moments Kriti and Sushant spent on the sets of the film. The actress wrote how Raabta, which remains her only film with Sushant, is extremely close to her heart.
"Tan lade, tan muk jaaye, Rooh jude, judi reh jaaye... I believe in connection, I believe that we are meant to meet the people we do... My Raabta with Sushant, Dinoo, and MaddockFilms was just meant to be... Films come and go.. But every single film has so so many memories behind it.. The connections we make & the moments we live with each other stay within us.. Some more than others", Kriti wrote.
"Raabta was one of my best and most memorable experiences and it will ALWAYS remain extremely close to my heart.. 💞 Little did I know that it would be our first and last.. 💔 #Raabta", she added.
Raabta didn't do well at the box office but it did give air to rumours of Sushant and Kriti's alleged relationship. The movie was directed by Dinesh Vijan and co-produced by Vijan, Homi Adajania, and Bhushan Kumar under the banners of Maddock Films and T-Series.
