Kangana Ranaut Completes 15 Years In Film Industry; Compares Her Success Story With Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai, April 28, 2021: Actress Kangana Ranaut has completed 15 years in the film industry today. She made her acting debut with Anurag Basu's directorial Gangster and went on the become one of the biggest success stories of Indian cinema.

Recalling how difficult it was for her to reach her current status, while also comparing her journey with another "success story", Shah Rukh Khan, Kangana tweeted on Wednesday (April 28), "15 years ago Gangster released today, Shahrukh Khan Ji and mine are the biggest success stories ever but SRK was from Delhi, convent educated and his parents were involved in films, I did not know a single word of English, no education, came from a remote village of HP".



"Every step was a battle starting with my own father and grandfather, who made my life miserable, and yet 15 years later after so much success still every day is a fight for survival but totally worth it, thank you everyone Folded hands #15yearsofgangster", she added.

Kangana Ranaut starred opposite Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja in the romantic thriller Gangster (2006), which was produced by Mahesh Bhatt. Kangana played a bar dancer who falls in love with a gangster, only to be become a loner due to a personal crisis.



Since her debut film, for which she won Filmfare Awards for best female debut, Kangana has won several other accolades including four National Awards. She recently begged her 4th National Award in the Best Actress category for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Panga.

While the actress has done most of the films in Hindi, she had also starred in the Tamil movie Dhaam Dhoom (2008), and the 2009's Telugu movie, Ek Niranjan, co-starring Prabhas and Sonu Sood. She is making her comeback to Tamil and Telugu cinema with her upcoming trilingual movie, Thalaivi.
