Hyderabad, September 2 - The pre-release event of director Ayan Mukerji's highly-awaited Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which was scheduled to take place on September 2 at Romoji Film City in Hyderabad, has been canceled due to unforeseen situations.
The event was to be graced by superstar Jr. NTR as the chief guest and a huge set was also constructed for the event, but unfortunately, it had to cancel as permission was not granted. It has been reported that permission for the event was denied at the last moment due to the shortage of police personnel to handle the huge crowd.
The fans of Jr. NTR were reportedly heading towards the event venue in large numbers and this could have resulted in an unfavorable situation as entire police machinery is on the ground due to recent communal tensions. It is also said that until Ganesh Nimajjanam is over, permission for the big-scale events will not be granted in the city.
"Brahmastra" is a fantasy adventure film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in association with Star Studios. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni in prominent roles.
The film is scheduled to release on September 9 in Hindi along with dubbed versions of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. It intended to serve as the first film in a planned trilogy as part of its own cinematic universe called Astraverse.
