Mumbai, December 20 - Reliance Entertainment had held back two of its big-budget films - Sooryavanshi and 83, for more than 15 months for theatrical releases, after getting delayed by the covid-19 pandemic. While "Sooryavanshi" has delivered and proved the decision right, the onus is now on "83" to repeat the success of Rohit Shetty's directorial.

Based on India's maiden ODI world cup triumph in 1983, "83", directed by Kabir Khan, is being billed as one of the most anticipated films of the Bollywood film industry at the moment. The movie, starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, is creating excitement among the fans with the launch of the trailer, songs, promos, and collaborations with stars of the South film industry and sports fraternity.



The makers, meanwhile, seemed to be super confident about their product as they held a special show for some celebrities and critics five days ahead of the release. The first reactions to the film are largely positive and if they are anything to go by, "83" is all set to be the next blockbuster.
