'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare' To Premiere On OTT In September

The coronavirus pandemic has had a big impact on the entertainment industry. With cinemas and theater halls being shut, many movies have already taken the over-the-top (OTT) route as makers are releasing their films directly on the digital platforms.

From Laxmmi Bomb to Bhuj: The Pride Of India , many big movies have been announced on the different OTT platforms ditching the conventional theatrical release due to COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping the trend continue, Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare is set to have an OTT release.



Set in a developing industrial area on the outskirts of New Delhi, "Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare" chronicles the quiet transgression of two women who are cousins, and who find freedom through complicated love-hate equations.

The comedy satire film directed by Alankrita Shrivastava of "Lipstick Under My Burkha" fame, will be premiered on Netflix on September 18. The movie is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banners of Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment.

Bhumi Pednekar has welcomed the decision and said that she is okay with any platform being the vehicle of her creative expression. "As an artist, I only look to entertain the audience every time I am on the screen and I am okay with any platform becoming the vehicle of my creative expression", Bhumi said in a statement.

The movie was initially decided to release in theaters on October 4 last year but got postponed. However, it was premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival under the section "A Window on Asian Cinema" on 4 October 2019.
