Mumbai, December 9 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's live-action epic
Ramayana, which was announced many moons back, has been the talk of the town over the last few years. The planned trilogy has been in the pre-production work for a long time and makers are taking enough time in the research work, thus the filming is getting delayed.
The pre-production work of "Ramayana" has moved rapidly over the last few months and the makers are making sure it goes on floors sooner than later. Madhu Mantena, who has produced films like Udta Punjab, Ghajini, and Super 30, is one of the producers of this magnum opus along with Allu Arvind and Namit Malhotra.
During a recent interview with Pinkvilla (via TOI), Madhu Mantena revealed that the script of the film will be completed in the next couple of months after detailed research and groundwork on the screenplay and story over the past few years, and if all goes as per plan, the filming will start from September 2023.
"After intense research and groundwork for the last few years on the screenplay and story, the script will be ready in a couple of months. The story needs that amount of research and effort. We are aiming to start shooting from September 2023", Mantena said.
The star cast of the movie is yet to be made official but multiple reports in the past have stated that Ranbir Kapoor will play Ram while Hrithik Roshan has been attached to play Raavan and Sai Pallavi will be essaying the role of Sita. Mantena didn't reveal the name but assured that the best of the performers will be coming on board the film.
