Los Angeles, October 2 - Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part One: Shiva continues to do well at the box office and now, it has become the second highest-grossing Indian movie at the USA box office in 2022, crossing total collection of Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2.
The fantasy action adventure film has grossed $7.44 million so far, beating KGF 2's $7.41 million to become the second biggest Indian movie of 2022 in the USA. SS Rajamouli-fronted RRR holds the first positive strongly with $14.5 million and is miles ahead of the other movies.
"RRR" is most likely to remain the number one Indian film of 2022 in the USA but there are chances that "Brahmastra" may lose its second positive to Mani Ratnam's sensational Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1. "PS-1" has already grossed $3.23 million in just 2 days + Thursday previews and looking to have a long run in the USA.
"Brahmastra", on the other hand, is the third highest-grossing Indian film post-pandemic at the worldwide box office in 2022. It has so far grossed Rs. 420 crores through 4th Saturday, and the numbers include Rs. 310 crores at the domestic box office and approx. Rs. 110 crores overseas for all languages. It is eyeing Rs. 430-440 crores in its lifetime run.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in association with Star Studios, the movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy in prominent roles along with Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shah Rukh Khan in cameos.
