Chandigarh, July 26, 2021: As the cinemas are reopening in the country, many filmmakers are gearing up for the release of their films. In this process, the makers of the long-awaited Punjabi film, Puaada, have announced a new theatrical release date.
Puaada, a romantic-comedy film starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, will be releasing in cinemas on August 12, 2021. Directed by Rupinder Chahal, Puaada, will be the first major Punjabi release since the covid-19 pandemic broke out in the country at the beginning of the last year.
The film follows the love story of a Punjabi village boy, running a dairy farm and is in a relationship with Raunak, an air force officer's daughter. The movie will be released by Zee Studios while Atul Bhalla, Pawan Gill, Anurag Singh, Aman Gill, and Balwinder Singh Janjua have produced it under the banners of A&A Pictures, and Brat Films.
Puaada was earlier scheduled to release on April 2, 2021, but due to the second covid-19 wave, it was postponed indefinitely. The film also stars Anita Devgan, Hardeep Gill, Seema Kaushal, Sukhwinder Singh Chahal, Nisha Bano, and Gurpreet Bhangu, among others in key roles.
The trailer of the movie and the song 'Aye Haye Jattiye' were released a couple of months ago and were widely appreciated by audiences; chalking up more than 20 million views online. And now the movie is scheduled for release on the Independence Day weekend, it is the perfect time for Punjabi audience to return to cinemas after a long time to watch a mad, desi, rom-com.
