Mumbai, May 11, 2021: While India is facing the deadly second covid-19 wave, there are thousands of covid warriors who are risking their own lives to help out the people affected due to the pandemic. To keep covid warriors' morale high, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan encouraged them by reciting one of his late father's poems.
Big B took to Twitter and shared a video reciting the poem penned by his father, the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The poem encourages a person to never give up during a battle, to fight with all their strength, and to never bow down or stop midway.
In the video, after reciting the poem, Amitabh Bachchan says, "These words, written by my father Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, are a clarion call that reminds us to never give up. They were written at a time the country faced a different crisis and challenge, but even today, they resonate".
"I believe these words celebrate the spirit of the Covid warriors, our frontline workers, who, as we all know, are sacrificing so much for all of us. It is time we support them and bolster the fight against Covid. This is our fight. We can all contribute in whatever way we can. We must all come together for India", the veteran actor further added.
A day earlier, Big B joined some of the international personalities including Pope Francis, Joe Biden, Selena Gomez, and others in a globally televised special titled Global Citizen's VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World. The concert aims to inspire vaccine confidence worldwide and help get the Covid-19 vaccine to everyone everywhere.
Big B shared an urgent plea
from India. During his speech, Big B urged all global citizens to help India out by donating and speaking up for vaccine distribution.
