Ali Abbas Zafar to make a film on India's 1984 riots; in talks with Diljit Dosanjh?

Director Ali Abbas Zafar is planning to make a film based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots that occurred after the assassination of the Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and is in talks with Diljit Dosanjh who, Ali thinks, is the best option for the film.
According to some reports, Ali Abbas Zafar was always wanted to make a film on the 1984 riots and was searching for the right script which he has found now. For the script work, he will reportedly be involved in it apart from producing the film.
The reports have also suggested that Ali and his team think that Diljit Dosanjh will be the right actor for the film and for that, they are in continuous talk with him. However, the makers will take the final call in a few months but Diljit has reportedly agreed to do the movie which may begin after the situation become normal from COVID-19
Interestingly, Diljit Dosanjh has already worked in a Punjabi film based on the riots 'Punjab 1984' that was directed by Anurag Singh. Released 27 June 2014, the movie won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi.
