Akshay Kumar Taking Bull By The Horns After Back-To-Back Box Office Failures

Mumbai, June 16 - It has been more than 5 months into 2022 and we have already seen some of the biggest blockbusters as well as disastrous films. However, the failure of Akshay Kumar's two back-to-back films, in the form of "Bachchhan Paandey" and "Samrat Prithviraj", has been one of the biggest highlights so far.

Akshay Kumar's credibility at the box office, despite 4-5 films per year, was kept on rising over the last 6-7 years, but due to the debacle results of Bachchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj, that credibility has been affected to some extent.



What is next for Akshay from here on, especially knowing the fact that he is never short of films and has his plate full for the next two years at least. The Bollywood Sooryavanshi's next film is a family comedy-drama, "Raksha Bandhan" with director Anand L Rai. The movie is slated to hit worldwide screens on August 11 this year.

Many actors if not all would have picked a safe way to bring their next films after back-to-back failures, however, this is not the case with Akshay as he has decided to take the bull by the horns. It will be up against Aamir Khan's long-awaited "Laal Singh Chaddha", which is also scheduled for the August 11 release.

Akshay could have easily shifted the release of "Raksha Bandhan" but he is going ahead with it, showing his confidence. There could be many reasons for bringing the movie on August 11. One of the main reasons for the film's release on the aforementioned date is that it is based on a bond between brother and sister and the makers couldn't have picked a better release date than bringing it on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan itself.



"Rakshan Bandhan" also falls in a genre that has given many hits to Akshay in the last 5-6 years. The emotions and the storyline of the movie are also something that will surely connect to the people. There is one more reason which gives the Akshay-starrer an advantage over LSC is that it is a fresh story unlike LSC which is the official adaptation of the Hollywood classic "Forrest Gump".

Despite not having a good year so far, the Khiladi Kumar is showing enough confidence in his films, which is the hallmark of a secure actor.
