Akshay Kumar Re-confirms 'Raksha Bandhan' Release Date On August 11, 2022

Mumbai, June 16 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has re-confirmed the release date of his family comedy-drama film "Raksha Bandhan". The Aanand L. Rai-directed movie will be released as scheduled on August 11, 2022, and will be clashing with Aamir Khan-fronted "Laal Singh Chaddha" at the box office.

Produced by Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films in association with Zee Studios, "Raksha Bandhan" stars Bhumi Padnekar as the female lead opposite Akshay while it also stars Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth, and Abhinay Raj Singh in supporting roles.



The story written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon revolves around the love, bonding, and attachment between brother-sister. Akshay took to Twitter and confirmed the release date. "Bringing you all a story of the purest form of bond that will remind you of yours!" he wrote.

Akshay Kumar's last two films, "Bachchhan Paandey" and "Samrat Prithviraj" haven't worked well at the box office. "Raksha Bandhan" falls in the category of those films which gave a lot of success to Akshay in the last few years.
