Mumbai, Dec 20, 2021: Exactly 8 years ago on 20 December 2013 witnessed the release of Dhoom3 - which went on to smash every box office record of that time and emerged as an outright Blockbuster at the box office.

Dhoom as everyone knows is a franchise started in 2004. The First film of Dhoom starred John Abraham and the film did exceedingly well at the box office and emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year it was released. The first Dhoom film was directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Yash Raj Films.



The 2nd film of the Dhoom franchise was released in 2006 and starred Hrithik Roshan and this film took box office collections to another level altogether. The film had broken many initial records and also emerged as the biggest hit as well as the Biggest Grosser of the year.

Dhoom3 - the third film of the franchise released on Xmas 2013 with Aamir khan joining the franchise as the main guy and just like the previous films, Dhoom3 tore apart each and every box office record and created a new one which took years to get broken.

Dhoom3 was record opener, record weekend, record week one, and record lifetime grosser. This was the first film that crossed 250cr net collections in India and 500cr collections worldwide. Dhoom3 smashed overseas records too and was the Biggest overseas earner of its time.

There have been many franchises in Bollywood like Golmaal, Houseful, and Dabangg but Dhoom is probably the Biggest franchise of the Indian cinema and it remains to be seen which actor gets a chance to star in the upcoming film of this franchise. Dhoom3 remains among the Top5 Biggest hits ever in the career of Aamir khan. The film also starred Katrina kaif along with Abhishekh Bachchan and Uday Chopra.
